Birthday Wish List

So tomorrow is my birthday.  I’d really like to skip this one.  Really, just skip the birthday – but still get cake!!  On my birthday wish list this year are of course a ton of books – can’t wait to get my hands on End of Watch.  Though this list contains a few books, and a few other things, what I’d really like is some quiet time to read (and to eat cake)!!

9781501129742_p0_v3_s192x300I have been so looking forward to End of Watch, Stephen King’s latest book.  It is the third book in his Bill Hodges Series.  He is one of my favorite authors and I will honestly read anything he writes.

I should’ve read Me Before You a long time ago – but I just haven’t.  It’s on my list now because I want to read it before watching the movie.  And because everyone in the world at this point has read it (but me!) and raved about it.

9780762448654_p0_v3_s192x300A couple of weeks ago at the library I came across Tequila Mockingbird.  I thumbed through it, and knew I had to known it.  Included in the book are short summaries of some of the classics, along with recipes that go along with the theme and/or the name of the book.

Two non-book items that are on my birthday wish list this year are the Apple iWatch, and a new camera.  As a runner, I’ve been eyeing the iWatch for a while.  I usually wear my iPhone with an armband, using the Nike app while I run, but the 50048769convenience of just wearing the watch is very appealing.  It’s at the top of my bday wish list!!  Speaking of iPhones, we are going on a trip later this summer to the Bahamas, and I would love a new camera.  Normally I use my phone to take pictures, but have been eyeing a new Nikon camera.  I’d love to take this along with me on our trip!!

I recently read an article listing the bestselling books the year you were born.  The bestselling book the year I was born, 1976, was Sleeping Murder by Agatha Christie.  Yes, 1976.  Did you do the math?  I’m turning 40!  I’ll be putting that book on my TBR list, maybe there’s a Agatha Christie themed drink in Tequila Mockingbird!  I can drown my sorrows, or at least try to forget that I’m now 40!!
